2 months behind!

Gee, I guess I haven't updated in quite awhile. That's what working and taking care of a toddler will do to you, I suppose! Hope all is well with everyone out there that ever checks this thing. Things have been good for us...looking forward to a vacation with my parents in the beginning of January. They rented a cabin in the mountains near Helen, GA for a week-long getaway! We're not able to stay the entire week, but even a few days will be nice to get away for a bit. I haven't had a "vacation" since our Honeymoon over 2 years ago. It will be magnificent to just relax for a few days! Not sure how Hunter will do, sleeping away from home for a few nights. The last time he slept away from home was when we went to Indiana last September and he was only 6 weeks old then. He is so used to sleeping in his own bed...I hope he manages okay. Speaking of Hunter, he will be 16 months old on Tuesday! I can't believe how fast time is going. He has pretty much lost his baby look and now looks like a little boy! He is the best kid a person could ask for, even though he does have quite an attitude these days. He does not like being told "no." Ha! But what kid does? Thought I'd update you with a few pictures from the last couple of months. He is scheduled to have Christmas pictures made on Sunday so I will post some of them when they come back. And FYI, you will see how short his hair is lately, not because I wanted it to be, but because his eczema was absolutely terrible on his head and having the short hair has helped it tremendously. It's starting to grow back out a bit now :) Have a great day and enjoy your holiday season!!!

FOUND IT!

Camera located! *Sigh of relief* Was in the bottom of the stroller in the back of the van. I KNEW I hadn't lost it...I'm not that scatterbrained :) I am SO glad it turned up! Steven and I both started discussing the food show this morning and realized we had it at the food show....the logical place to look would have been the stroller. So Steven darted out the door and unfolded the stroller....there it was! Such a good morning :)

Time marches on

This was taken with our video camera's still photo option. Unfortunately, our good camera is now MIA. I have no idea where it is, but it makes me want to cry. Luckily I was able to take all of my photos off the camera before it went missing. Maybe it's still around somewhere...maybe not. Ok, I'm sure it's around, just not around my house! I have been stressed about this for 2 days and stressing doesn't help the situation any. The camera is gone and I just have to accept that. *Sigh* I just can't afford to buy a brand new one that is the same quality! $400 thrown out the window! Let's just say, I have learned a very expensive lesson to keep up with my things! Luckily our video camera (thanks Mom & Dad!) takes still pictures so I don't have to miss a beat of my toddler's toodlerhood in photos! I was afraid I would miss out on so many photos until I can get a new camera. At least the video camera takes decent pictures! I am still very sad though...there are so many memories with that camera. I am kicking myself daily for letting it get away. I honestly don't know what happened!!! Oh well...I guess we live and we learn.

He's 1!

So we celebrated Hunter's 1st birthday last saturday, 8/8/09. Officially 1 year after he entered this world. I can't believe it's been a year already. Wow. He really enjoyed his party, even though he was too tired to open his gifts at the party! I had to put him down for a nap because he started to scream while trying to tear open the wrapping paper! Poor little man had too much fun! We had a Backyardigans theme, which was cute, even though he didn't really care. He played with everyone, ate lunch, had cake (which took him awhile to get into, but the photo shows the aftermath), and then got to get in his castle pool and just chill with daddy for awhile! It was a great day and beautiful weather, so we got lucky there. The highlight of the whole thing was the photo montage I made of him with pictures from his entire first year set to music. I think everyone else enjoyed it. If I can figure out how to get it in the correct file format, I'll upload a copy of it here. Might take awhile, but I'll try :) We took him to the doctor on Friday, 8/14, for his 1-year checkup. He weighed a whopping 24lbs 10oz and is 31.25in long! Mama's big boy!!! Now we're on our way to his 2nd birthday....I can't wait to see what this year has in store for us! Hope all is well with everyone!

It's been awhile...

Gosh, it's been quite some time since I updated last. Wow. Lots has happened. Hunter is getting his upper front teeth now. He also is walking and got his first haircut! I have some photos to update and a video, but will have to post pictures of his haircutting adventure at a later time cuz they are on my mom's camera. All is well on the homefront. Hunter sure keeps us on our toes! I guess they do that when they start walking! It's almost time for his birthday...can you believe it? He'll be one! OMG I so can't believe that a year ago at this time I was preparing for his arrival. And when he got here...man he seemed so tiny! He's sure grown a lot since then. Anyways, I hope you all enjoy the pictures. The video will be next :) Hope all is well with everyone!

9 month check-up

So technically he is almost 10 months, but this is Hunter at his 9 month check-up yesterday. Thought I would share :)

It's been awhile...

So, Hunter is on his way to 10 months old now! And he's on his way to getting into every kind of trouble he can find! I'm certain it can get worse, so never in my life will I say that things can't get worse than they are right now. He tries to get into everything and EAT every little thing he can find! He grabbed up a piece of wood the other day off the floor by the front door and thought he'd have himself a little snack. Agh! It makes me so nervous to think that he could do something that might hurt himself. I don't want him eating just whatever tasty treat he has found lying around somewhere. Also, I don't want him smacking a hole in my TV or pulling the fishtank over on top of him, both of which he appears to enjoy trying to do. He learned to pull up and stand quite awhile ago, so now he is a pro at this. Occasionally he will even find himself standing up without holding onto anything....and once he figures out he is doing this, he will find something to hold onto or he will sit down. If he doesn't think about it, he does okay, but when he thinks about it, it's all over. He's even taking steps with his walkin' wagon. I swear one day I'm gonna turn around and he's gonna be walking towards the fishtank instead of crawling like a maniac! It's coming...and soon I suppose. We have to be ready! Haha. Who am I kidding? Ready for a toddler?! You've got to be insane to think that a person can EVER be ready for that! In hindsight though, I remember Hunter when he was just an itty bitty baby and couldn't go anywhere or do anything without my help. Now he's mobile and trying to explore things on his own. He's growing up so fast and I find it hard to imagine that just over 9 months ago, he was being born. Time can change so much! His first birthday is coming up in a couple months....OMG! He will be 1 YEAR old!!!! God has blessed me with such a little angel and my life has forever been changed by him. Hooters?!

Hunter's first trip to Hooters for chicken wings! You can tell he's excited already and we weren't even there yet. And with him being such a natural flirt, of course he LOVED all the girls! They loved him too cuz he's such a handsome little man!

I want everyone to look at these pictures. The one on the top was taken on 9/12/08 when Hunter was a little over 1 month old. The one on the bottom was taken on 3/18/09 and he is almost 7 1/2 months old. Just look at the difference!!! He is SO big! I can't believe he has grown so much. I just wanted to share.

Weekend fun

Mommy & Daddy took Hunter on an outing Saturday since it was a beautiful day! He enjoyed "hanging out" in the pouch on the front of Mommy. But, he did get a tiny bit of sunburn on his little arms. I forgot the sunscreen. Guess I'm just not used to having to lather him up in sunscreen. It's starting to get warm and sunny out though and we will be spending a lot more time outside, so I guess I'll have to remember that in the future! I took him grocery shopping with me on Sunday and he had a ball in the cart. I got him one of those things that sit in the cart so it's more sanitary and fun for him with all the toys. We spent a good hour in the store and he did great the whole time. He loved his weekend with mommy :) But, sadly, Mommy had to go back to work today. I figured I would post some pictures from the weekend :) Enjoy!

7 month update

Hunter had his shots the other day...the last set until 12 months, thankfully! I think it hurts mommy & daddy more than it does him. Poor guy started to cry before she even got him with the first one! Oh well, it's all over now so we have 5 months without any of that! They weighed him at the appointment and he is now a whopping 20lb 3oz and 27 1/4 inches long! Holy crap, batman! He's the size of a 12 month old! He's wearing all 12 month clothes now, which means we have to re-do his wardrobe (i.e. buy all new stuff!). I can't believe how fast he is growing! It seems like just yesterday, he was a tiny little thing all curled up in my arms. Now he wiggles and flops to try to get away from me so he can play. Oh, my little man is growing up. He is the most amazing thing I have ever seen. Thought I'd post a few picture updates, too. Enjoy :)

Layin' with Ugly Doll

Steven bought this ridiculous doll as Hunter's 1st Valentine's Day present. It's hilarious. It's really an "Uglydoll." His name is Chuckanucka. He is a worry wart. The tag says so. Hunter LOVES this thing. We tote "Ugly" with us wherever we go. Hunter loves to chew on his ears and swing him around by his tiny little arms. Ugly doesn't seem to care. Even though Ugly worries about everything, at least he makes Hunter very happy :)
